Meet Kate
Hi, I’m Kate. My journey with food began while travelling and working in New Zealand, where I fell in love with the culture of fresh, seasonal and sustainable cooking. When I returned to the UK, I spent several years working with a leading event caterer at the Tate Galleries in London, gaining experience in some of the city’s most prestigious events.
After many glamorous parties, premieres and product launches, I traded city life for the sea and settled in Hastings with my partner and two young children. Today, I bring that same experience, creativity and attention to detail to The Shared Table, offering sustainable catering in Sussex and Kent that celebrates local ingredients, vibrant flavours and the joy of sharing good food.

Good food should bring people together. At The Shared Table, I create communal dining experiences designed for sharing, with plentiful platters, colourful dishes and feasts that spark conversation and connection.
Living in East Sussex gives me access to incredible local produce, which means I can create beautiful, seasonal food while supporting small suppliers and reducing waste. My cooking draws inspiration from my South Asian heritage, using spices and herbs to build flavourful, plant-based dishes alongside high-welfare, sustainably sourced meat.
Everything we make is designed to be enjoyed together. Food that looks beautiful, tastes amazing and makes people feel at home.

We are based in Hastings and proudly serve East & West Sussex and Kent, including:
Hastings, St Leonards, Battle, Heathfield, Robertsbridge, Rye, Winchelsea, Pett, Crowhurst, Uckfield and surrounding areas.
I wanted to try something a little different for our party and was enticed by the variety and flavours of Kate’s ideas. Everyone was hugely impressed, I’ve had so many lovely compliments from our guests. Not only was the food delicious, but Kate herself is utterly charming and professional. Go ahead!
